WELCOME

Firstly I would like to take the opportunity to welcome Bethan, Christina and Donna, who have recently joined the staff at small wonders. They have already become valued members of our team here at the nursery.

Welcome also to all of our new children, both in babies and preschool, we hope you will enjoy the time you spend with us and we look forward to watching you grow and learn as you progress throughout the nursery and on to school.

PITTER PATTER . . .

A huge congratulations to Lauren (baby room), who is expecting her second baby in September. We will be saying a temporary farewell to her towards the end of July. Please see Donna if you would like to make a contribution to her farewell gift and card. There will also be a poll to guess the weight of the baby at a later date.

FINGERPRINT SECURITY SYSTEM

As you have probably seen, we have recently had a state of the art security system installed throughout the nursery. The system requires fingerprint access to the main building and preschool, providing extra security and peace of mind for parents. As I am sure you understand, child protection is constantly being highlighted in the media and we feel that additional security such as this will help us to safeguard the welfare of all our children.

We would like all our parents to be enrolled on the system for the main entrance, however we will not be able to enrol emergency contacts for security reasons.

To become enrolled on the new system, enabling you to gain free access to the nursery, please approach either Natasha or Vicky on the week commencing 7th June. Your fingerprint will be scanned but NOT STORED.

WHAT'S ON THE MENU? YOU DECIDE . .

We are now creating our summer menu and hope to offer a selection of light, seasonal meals and tastes to the children. We would really value your input so please put forward any ideas you have for meals or snacks to Sue in the kitchen. Children’s ideas are also highly valued so please remember to ask your child for their own ideas and opinions too.

TREASURE BASKETS & DRESSING UP EQUIPMENT NEEDED

We are still creating our treasure baskets and would be grateful for any contributions. We are also creating a wider range in our dressing up area. If you have any old clothes (both adult size and baby/child) or hats, shoes, scarves, bags, purses etc.

REMINDERS

SUNCREAM & SUNHATS
As the warm weather is finally here (on occasion) it is vital that the children are protected from the sun. If you haven’t already done so, please could you provide a bottle of waterproof, high factor sun cream (Factor 50+ for babies under 2, and factor 30+ for children 2-5 years) and a sun hat with neck protector. Please do not use an old bottle of sun cream as the factor value reduces to half over 12 months. The children will be kept out of the sun between 11am and 3pm at all times however we may venture outside to play in the shade.

SPARE CLOTHING & SLIPPERS
Please ensure that your child has at least 3 spare sets of clothing including pants, socks, trousers and tops each day (more if they are toilet training)

ALL children must also have a pair of named indoor shoes to keep at nursery
